Why Use This Calculator?
Every loaded container has two important weight limitations:
- Maximum Gross Mass (MGM) β the maximum permitted total weight of the loaded container.
- Maximum Payload β the maximum permitted cargo and loading equipment that may be placed inside the container.
Exceeding either limit can create safety risks, regulatory non-compliance, additional costs, shipment delays or cargo rejection. This calculator helps estimate the loaded container mass before loading begins by combining cargo weight with all other loading components such as flexitanks, pallets, dunnage, securing materials and auxiliary equipment.
The calculator automatically converts between metric, US customary and Imperial units while comparing the estimated load against the entered container limits.
