Source: Official daily 0900, 1200, and 1700 exchange-rate data from data.gov.my, sourced from Bank Negara Malaysia where available. This dashboard uses middle rates only and automatically selects the latest available official session. It is for general business reference and does not represent actual transaction rates offered by banks, remittance services, card providers, money changers, or treasury desks.

Why Daily FX Volatility Matters

FX volatility shows how much a currency moved, regardless of whether it strengthened or weakened. For many businesses, the size of movement can be more important than the direction because larger changes create uncertainty in pricing, payment timing, landed cost estimates, supplier discussions, and export quotation validity.

Importers can use this dashboard to identify currencies that may create sudden MYR payment changes. Exporters can use it to monitor currencies that may affect MYR-equivalent receipts. Logistics providers can use it to review currencies linked to freight, overseas agent charges, regional settlement, and customer quotations.

How to Use This Dashboard

Start with the most volatile currencies at the top. These are the currencies that moved most sharply against MYR in the latest available BNM middle-rate comparison. A high volatility reading does not automatically mean a currency is bad or good; it means the currency deserves closer monitoring before confirming prices, invoices, freight estimates, or settlement decisions.

Data Notice: This dashboard uses official daily 0900, 1200, and 1700 exchange-rate data published through Malaysia’s open data platform and sourced from Bank Negara Malaysia where available. It uses middle rates only and is provided for general business reference. It is not a bank, remittance, card, money changer, or treasury transaction quote.
